Why do we call it Good Friday?

On this sobering yet sacred day, we reflect not just on Jesus’ death—but on the victory that was won in the Garden of Gethsemane, before a cross was ever lifted.

In this intimate Good Friday devotional, we walk with Jesus through Matthew 26 as He prays, surrenders, and prepares to drink the cup of suffering. He prays, “Not my will, but yours be done,” three times—until there are no more ifs. Just obedience. Just love.

In the garden, He was crushed like olives in a press so that the oil of life could be poured out for us all.
On the cross, He endured silence from the Father so we never would.

This is the moment the battle was won—the victory of surrender, the power of obedience, and the depth of God's love.

🕊️ Scripture: Matthew 26:36–46
🪔 Location: The Garden of Gethsemane — “The Olive Press”
✝️ Focus: Jesus chose the Father’s will so we’d never have to face silence again.

Let this moment shape how you enter Easter. Because Sunday’s resurrection was made possible by Friday’s surrender.
